Beachin’

Finally – we made it to the beach for the weekend! The kids have been luck to have lots of beach time this summer, however, I’ve only been once and really wanted to go this weekend to mark the end of the summer and relax with the kiddos. The weather may not have been amazing but we had fun, got some beach time (busted out the bikini even!) in and I found a new bike trail.

Playing in The Rain

Playing in The Rain

Just after we arrived to started to rain and the kids asked if they could go splash in the puddles so off we went outside to play. Then it turned into biking and playing tag – talk about a fun cardio workout! We were all soaked by the time we went inside – best workout I’ve had in a while!

Bike & Beach

Bike & Beach

I borrowed my moms cruiser and biked down to the beach – a short ride but fun none the less. There was a few good little hills on the way home to which made my legs burn – gotta love that feeling!

Sawyer and my dad found this bike for free at a yard sale a few weeks back and they spent most of the day getting it fixed up and ready for her to ride. She’s almost 4 and insisted on no training wheels – thankfully my dad is handy and made a special stick to help her balance. Hopefully we’ll be able to do mother daughter rides.

To The Port!

To The Port!

While the kids were resting I took the opportunity to go exploring and found a nice trail that took me to the next town over and along the water all the way. A very pretty ride and super relaxing – no music needed. The hills on this trail were not quite the hills of Calgary but they made the legs burn quite a bit which is a welcome feeling!

Finally SUN!

Finally SUN!

I begged the kids to go to the beach all afternoon yesterday – who doesn’t want to go to the beach! Finally just before dinner I got them to the beach so I quickly soaked up as much sun as I could. Despite being on this crazy plateau I’m still rocking the red bikini that I wore in Florida. I even felt OK walking down the beach with the kids and I guess that’s all that matters.

September is Yoga month – I actually bought a yoga magazine last week and haven’t had a chance to read it! I want to begin to learn more about the benefits of yoga, how it can be used in my training and how I can incorporate the kids too! So this month I hope to have a few posts about discovering yoga to share with you!
