Small pager size timer that is simple to setup and configurable to just about any workout via these options:

  • You can set to countdown once and then repeat each time you press a button, or set it to automatically repeat without pressing anything.
  • You can set a single interval, or 2 intervals of different lengths (so you can set a work interval, and a rest interval of a different time.)
  • Intervals can be set down to the second.
  • You can set the number of repeats you desire.
  • The alarm can be either a beep, a vibration, or both.
  • The alarm can further be set to go off for 1, 5, or 10 seconds.
  • Stopwatch function as well.
  • Secure belt clip attaches to your shorts, shirt collar, armband, back of hat, weight rack, or just set on the shelf.
  • One interval, or two different intervals of 2s -99 minutes.
  • Repeat up to 99 times.
  • Alarm by beep and/or vibrate.
  • Stopwatch function also.

Countdown timer
Any time interval you desire, 2 seconds to 99 minutes, then alarm.
Any 2 different intervals you desire, complete one than the other (2s-99min), alarm after each.

Repeating countdown timer
After each alarm timer will repeat these intervals, alarming at the end of each, this will continue until you stop it up to 99 times.
You may also preset the timer to repeat the number of repeats you desire up to 99 times. At the end the alarm pattern is different indicating completion.

How is it different?
Belt clip allows attachment to waist, armband, collar, hat, weight rack, or just slip into your pocket.

Why a Gymboss?
Workouts are composed of two elements, work and rest.  The work portion comes in many forms such as:
sets of repetitions (barbell, dumbbell, or bodyweight exercises such as pushups, pull-ups, sit-ups, etc).
timed work periods, where you complete as much work as possible for a given amount of time (Crossift, MMA/Boxing, Tabata, HIIT, kettlebell, and cardio of all sorts to name a few). This may be in the form of traditional cardio exercises such as running, sprinting, biking, rowing etc, or punching a bag, lifting weights or kettlebells, pulling a weighted sled, pounding a sledgehammer into an old tire, jumping up onto a box (polyometrics), throwing a weighted ball into the air or against the wall.  The possibilities are endless, push a car, run circles or stairs, just jump in the air, carry dumbbells or rocks, or any activity that requires the body to exert effort, anything goes!

The rest or recovery portion:
The rest or recovery interval is usually a time period and may be in the form of complete inactivity, such as the rest between weightlifting sets, sprint runs, punching, or pulling etc. It may also be in the form of the same exercise, such as running, walking, biking or a different exercise that does not demand as much as the work phase and at a much lower intensity level while the muscles recuperate. It may also be an inactivity such as stretching or ab work

Accurate timing gives your workout structure within the workout as well as control over the total workout duration.
Whether you set a goal to learn to run, jump rope for 20 minutes straight, decrease your 5K time, using the Gymboss will help you slowly increase your stamina by slowly increasing the work interval and shortening the recovery interval.

The body adapts to exercise so changing your workout can produce greater benefits and just altering the rest or recovery can change the workout. For example running short fast 1 minute intervals followed by 5 minute recovery runs, or a rest during weightlifting of 3 minutes will allow a much heavier weight to be lifted yielding different results.

Set goals
20 minutes jump rope, start 30 seconds jump rope 30 seconds off for 20 minutes, over a 4 week period slowly increase the work and decrease the rest until you are jumping for 20 minutes
Learn to run in the same fashion over 8 weeks slowly increasing the run interval and decreasing the walk interval until you reach you goal is a proven method.

Every weightlifting routine specifies the rest between sets yet there are very few people who actually measure this critical rest period with any accuracy.  Clocks and Stopwatchs require constant monitoring while the Gymboss was designed to provide an easy accurate tool with this in mind and makes timing rest between sets a snap.  There are 3 different methods for using a Gymboss for weightlifting.

EXACT REST BETWEEN SETS – Simply set ANY rest you desire, clip to your belt, and start the timer after each set, alarm indicates time for another set, accurate, effective, every time. The vibrate alarm allows use with music, and the beep will fend off people who want to “socialize” during your workout.

COMPLETE YOUR WORKOUT IN A FIXED TIME PERIOD – to keep your workout progressing and finish within your available time frame, setting the Gymboss to 90 second intervals in the repeat mode and begin a set at every alarm.  This will yield 20 sets in 30 minutes with an approximate rest between sets of 1 minute.  The flexibility of the Gymboss will allow you any interval time to yield your preferred rest, and any number repeats (sets) allowing you to plan and complete your workout in an exact time period.

TIMED WORK INTERVAL FOLLOWED BY TIMED REST – programs such as Tabata and Hiit training require you do as many reps as possible during a time period followed by a fixed rest period. Gymboss’s ability to time two different intervals provides an easy way Tabata’s 20 seconds work followed by a 10 second rest for 8 sets.  This will allow the user to completely stay focused on the workout and gain the maximum benefits from these very high intensity workouts that are proven to yield muscular endurance and fat burning like no other workout.

A goal can only be reached with proper planning, and lifting weights is no different.  A workout with 30 second rests between sets will yield completely different results than 3 minutes between sets. Most people do not have an unlimited amount of time to spend in the gym and need to get the most efficient workout possible.  A Gymboss Interval Timer will help you achieve all of these without having to monitor a clock or a stopwatch.

Beginning runners as well as advanced runners, and everyone in between, will benefit by  interval training, or run walk intervals in the case of learn to run programs.  Many people also use run/walk/run intervals to complete marathons.

High Intensity Interval Training combines intervals of high intensity followed by recovery intervals and can be used in almost any training regime wether on a treadmill, elliptical, bike, jump rope, kettle bells, weights, or any other activity.  The Gymboss makes timing these intervals simple and you will find it a challenge to set your workout into the Gymboss Interval Timer and try to complete it.  The ability to set any two intervals makes I tesay to increase the work time and decrease the rest time to make every workout a challenge.  This type of workout has been proven to be a better fat burner than steady state training and it has also been proven to take the doldrums out of any workout, WITH BETTER RESULTS!!!!

The Gymboss Interval Timer is a small, easy to use, dual-mode, repeating interval timer. This multiuse timer has many versatile functions that make it beneficial to everything from lifting weights, yoga, walking, running, learn to run, boxing, stretching, and a million other uses. Its allows the user to set one or two different time intervals from 2 seconds to 60 minutes, with varying methods of alarm. This quality interval timer makes any workout easier to plan and execute with more accuracy and consistency and helps to keep the user on track during their exercise program.
